Blake is in his second year as a head coach in the WFC Rangers program after serving as an assistant to Scott Caldwell with BU17 and BU18 teams in 2013 and 2014. He also has served as an assistant coach at Bellingham High School and has worked as a trainer for players in the former Whatcom Development League (Rangers Development Program). As a youth in Oregon, Blake played for the West Linn-Wilsonville Soccer Club and the Three Rivers Soccer Club. He later played in the prestigious FC Portland Academy program where he was coached by the legendary Clive Charles as well as Jim Rilatt, who coaches the MLS Portland Timbers' U23 development program. Blake played in the Oregon Olympic Development Program for three years, and he played on state championship club teams for FC Portland and Westside Metro. Blake was a three-year varsity player at West Linn High School and he was named to the Greater Northwest Athletic Conference's all-league team as a junior at Western Washington University. He also played for the Skagit Rapids in 2003-2004. "I believe in possession and defending first," Blake says. "Defending wins championships, offense wins some games."
